Backend developer Internship:

Emakia is looking for a backend developer intern to join our daring engineering team remotely to develop the Emakia system and make safer media social content!

Emakia engineering team is a global engineering ecosystem, involved with Women Who Code, C2C, and Wonder Women Tech. Emakia system is open source. Emakia system offers a variety of modules, coding resources, hackathons, and other dynamic initiatives geared towards creating a system that provides a safer social media environment for women, and the underrepresented. Emakia thrives on diversity and inclusion initiatives, career advancement.

We applied research with a broad knowledge of machine learning, predictive modeling, classification, and optimization. We encourage our team to stay abreast of current research by attending conferences.

We are looking for a Node.js Developer responsible for managing the webhook between the Twitter platform and the Emakia server.

Skills:

Good social, written, and verbal communication skills

Understanding (or ready to learn) the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds
Understanding (or ready to learn) of server-side
Knowledge (or ready to learn) in Python and deep learning libraries
Knowledge (or ready to learn) Node.JS Cloud
Understanding (or ready to learn) accessibility and security compliance
Knowledge (or ready to learn) about NLP: language models, text encoding and decoding, semantics, discourse, etc.
Creative, collaborative, and passionate about turning ideas into products
Ability to deliver ML technologies aligned with the core values of Emakia, ensuring the highest standards of quality, scientific rigor, innovation, and respect for user privacy
Authorized to work in the US

The Mission:

As a backend developer, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

We collaborate with other engineers, feature teams.

Collect and label English tweets data via Webhook
Transfer data - Webhook
Integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic
Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code
Design and implementation of low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications
Implementation of security and data protection
Integration of data storage solutions
User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
versioning tools, such as GitHub
